In his book "Adulteri" (“Adulterers”), Aldo Naouri carries on and completes a detailed analysis of the modern family that he has developed from a special observatory: the analyst’s couch. The author explains his search for the “reasons that sometimes lead one of the partners to breach the fidelity agreement he/she implicitly signed at the beginning of the relationship”.
Far from presenting a series of titillating strategies for seduction or from giving lessons on fidelity, Naouri approaches the tricky subject of relationships and couples without resorting to moralizing tones and he draws the picture of a society that has trouble finding its identity at the beginning of the 21st century.
